Resumen

The necessity of production of clean energy to replace conventional and polluting power generation methods has sparked a wide range of research at a global level. One of   the least polluting energy sources in the world is wind power. This energy is transformed into electricity through wind turbines which must fulfill certain  parameters  for  the  best  generation of energy. However, there are various complications for their optimal design such as irregular wind flow and low flow  in  many areas. Consequently, some authors have developed research where they study wind energy to design aerodynamic profiles that allow them to take the most advantage of this clean energy. This paper presents in a summarized way, different works of various authors in the world who have presented research in order to provide methodologies that take advantage of the wind resource to convert it into wind energy.
